BrewDog’s bar in Inverurie, Scotland, is to re-open on Saturday (27th June), with local residents and community groups having a formal voice in how it is run.

Local businesses and community leaders have been invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 6.30pm on Friday, to mark the reopening.
While BrewDog — now operated by Tilray Brands — will own and operate the bar on a day-to-day basis, this marks the first of a new-style ‘Community Champions’ model for the company.
Those community champions are local residents, OG Punks, and local organisations. They will help to shape events, programming, and help to decide how the venue can support community initiatives.
BrewDog intends to pilot this new model at Inverurie, before expanding it to other bars in the UK. The model will operate on trial basis for up to a year from the re-opening of BrewDog Inverurie to learn the right long-term balance between BrewDog-led operations and community-led engagement.

The re-opening follows an extraordinary show of local support. Since the bar’s closure, Inverurie residents organised and submitted a formal proposal to BrewDog to bring the bar back. Inverurie has long been one of the most engaged BrewDog communities anywhere in the UK.
Saturday’s re-opening celebration will run from noon through to close, with live music and entertainment throughout the day. In recognition of the community that fought to bring the bar back, the first 100 people through the door will get a sample pint of a BrewDog headliner beer or new release on the house — on a first come, first served basis.
“Inverurie did something remarkable — the community came to us,” said Lauren Carrol, chief commercial officer at BrewDog. “They put together a proposal and showed us what this bar means to them, so we listened and put a plan in place to re-open.
“The people of Inverurie have always been a special part of our story, so it is only right that they now help shape what happens inside their local bar. This is the beginning of a model we hope to grow.”
