Women on Tap have announced that SIBA (the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates) will be Beer 50/50 partner and headline sponsor of International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day (IWCBD) for a third consecutive year.

SIBA Women on Tap

Over the past two years, the partnership has delivered a full IWCBD campaign each year, introduced the diversity champion category to the SIBA Business Awards, enhanced data collection on gender at the top level as part of the SIBA Independent Beer Report, and brought new inclusion talks and conversations to industry audiences at BeerX. The two organisations are now preparing to launch a new joint research project.

Across the partnership term to date, IWCBD has raised more than £60,000 for women’s causes.

“Three years in, this partnership just keeps proving what’s possible when an industry body puts real weight behind inclusion,” said Rachel Auty, founder and executive director of Women On Tap CIC.

“SIBA’s support has helped IWCBD grow into an even bigger platform for change, and raising over £60,000 for women’s causes along the way shows what collective action can achieve. We can’t wait to see what the next phase of research brings.”

Laura Mackie, a non-executive director of SIBA, added: “SIBA’s ongoing partnership with Women On Tap and the International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day aims to not only support women and non-binary people within the industry, through platforming, research, and mentoring, but also show those outside of the beer industry what a vibrant and exciting sector it is to be a part of.

“Beer is for everybody and is one of the most complex and diverse drinks on earth. Our work with WOT is about ensuring the industry that produces it has that same strength of diversity, and we’re hugely proud to be continuing that work.”
