New beer launches and collaborations this week, in store, on bars, and online, from around the UK.
St Austell Brewery and Jiddler’s Tipple have collaborated to create Proper Tipple, a contemporary 5.5% ABV IPA that combines traditional brewing heritage with modern hop character.
Brewed on a foundation of heritage malts, the beer showcases Galaxy, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin hops, delivering aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit, and gooseberry. A modern yeast strain provides a clean, crisp fermentation profile, allowing the hop character to shine while maintaining excellent drinkability. The result is a balanced, hop-forward IPA that reflects both breweries.
Pale-oton (5.2% ABV), a collaboration between Brew York and Green Gold, is described as a European IPA. Inspired by four-time Tour de France champion Tadej Poacar, it’s bursting with tropical fruit, bright citrus, and zesty grapefruit, balanced by a subtle maramalade sweetness.
Chub, a 4% ABV pale ale from Bluntrock, is back in cask. It’s pouring at: the Bluntrock taproom, Rock; The Barrel at Bude; Harbour House, Flushing; The Atlantic, Polzeath; Mexico Inn, Long Rock; Red Lion, Newlyn; Gurnard’s Head, Zennor; and Elusive Brewing, Wokingham.
Bristol Beer Factory describes Outer Banks, a 4.4% ABV session IPA, as a one-of-a-kind brew. It’s been hopped with Bru-1 and Australia elite trial HPA-065. “Expect a snap of pineapple spice undertone and a bright tropical finish,” says the brewer.
Favourite (5.2% ABV) is a new DDH hazy pale from Crafty Devil. Built on a soft, pale, oat-heavy base, it is loaded with Rakau, Citra, Nectaron, Strata, and Citra Cryo. Expect waves of ripe tropical fruit, juicy citrus, and zesty grapefruit, layered with subtle berry notes and a gentle resinous edge from the Strata and Rakau. “The addition of Citra Cryo takes the hop aroma to another level, while the silky oat-heavy malt bill delivers a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel, and a beautifully juicy finish,” says the brewer.
Sandford Orchards have relaunched their English sparkling cider, Katja, in a 500ml bottle format. Promoted as an accessible, home-grown alternative to English sparkling wine, Katja (6.8% ABV) is crafted from early-season Katy dessert apples at Britain’s oldest working cider mill in Devon. By cold-fermenting with white wine yeast, the team have created a sophisticated, fruit-forward cider with notes of strawberry, pear and melon.
Midwest (5.5% ABV), from Thornbridge, is a US-inspired twist on the classic German weissbier, brewed with a cleaner yeast strain and an amplified hop character. “We use flavourful new-world hops to bring vibrant notes of mango and orange to the forefront, creating a bright and fruity profile,” says the brewer. Those hops are Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic.
Pomona Island have collaborated with We Can Be Friends on Nothing To Get Hung About, a 0.5% ABV pale. “Hoppy, juicy, with lemon/lime soda pop refreshment,” say the brewers. “Crushable, but intensely flavoured and suitable for morning drinking, office meetings, or operating heavy machinery.”
Soft Focus is a new 5.8% ABV hazy pale from UnBarred. Four big hops do the work: Eclipse, Vic Secret, Azacca, and Ella. Together, they pour hazy and full-bodied and deliver waves of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple, passionfruit), bright citrus, and ripe stonefruit.
Beak’s latest release, a DDH pale ale called Pier (5% ABV), has been brewed in collaboration with some of Brighton’s finest pubs, bars, and bottle shops. “Double dry-hopped and bursting with character, it’s a beer that celebrates the vibrancy, creativity, and community of the city we love,” says the brewer.
Snagglepuss (3.2% ABV) is a new pink lemonade radler from Rooster’s. “Refreshingly tart and juicy, it balances ripe raspberry with soft floral citrus, zesty lemon peel, and a crisp, clean finish,” says the brewer.
One of Billericay’s most requested beers is making a comeback. Billericay Bees (4.3% ABV) is a golden ale brewed with locally produced honey. It offers a very floral finish.
A certain well-known ice lolly appears to have inspired Northern Monk to create Ace, a fruity, sweet, and chocolatey pale ale, bursting with summer nostalgia. It’s “our twist on a certain fabulous choice from your local ice cream van”, says the brewer.
