To celebrate new can designs, created with award-winning papercraft artist Owen Gildersleeve, Perivale Brewery is hosting an exhibition of original hand-cut artworks, inspired by the contours of Horsenden Hill.
The event, on Saturday, September 5th, from 2pm at Horsenden Farm, will feature a Q&A with the artist and a guided tour detailing the hill’s history.
Perivale Brewery is based on Horsenden Hill. Each design has been meticulously hand-cut by Owen, then photographed to form the iconic ‘P’ of Perivale. There are four different colourways, one for each of the brewery’s four core beers.
“We wanted our new cans to celebrate this amazing place we call home,” said brewery co-founder Christian Perrins. “The vibrancy, the colours, the layers of history, and the hand-made nature of things. Owen was our dream collaborator, and we were thrilled he was up for working with us.”
The event, which is free to attend, will include the story behind the new branding and beers (which will be in ample supply!) There will also be a guided tour of Horsenden Hill, outlining a rich history which includes archeological finds dating back to Neolithic, Roman, Saxon, Tudor, Victorian, and more recent times.
Perivale Brewery has a strong connection with the arts, being founded by two members of double Ivor Novello-nominated band The Leisure Society. Perivale previously hosted illustrator Chris Riddell for a live drawing session and Q&A. He also drew a large mural on the hoarding covering Horsenden farmhouse.
