Literary theme for Brew York’s Halloween beers

Brew York are embracing the approaching ‘spooky season’ with the release of three new beers taking their influence from classic literary horror.

Brew York Halloween

The Dark Chapters series comprises:

  • Dracula’s Bite, a raspberry and marshmallow pastry sour;
  • Franken Spice, a pumpkin spiced stout; and
  • Jekyll & Haze, a 6.66% ABV hazy pale.

The can artwork, designed by York-based agency UnitedByDesign, shows each protagonist against appropriate backdrops inspired by the classic texts.

“Our previous Halloween series have always gone down very well in our venues and with our trade customers, too,” said Brew York sales director Yousef Doubooni. “We know many of our stockists and consumers will be embracing the ‘spooky season’ with their drink selections, and, of course, pubs and bars in our hometown of York will be no exception to that. We can’t wait to see them pouring.”

Andrew Stark, head of marketing, said: “Halloween gives us lots of inspiration to build on the visual side of our brand identity. Previous years’ ranges were influenced by classic horror video games and horror films; the feedback was so good from these that we were looking at 2026’s theme as soon as 2025’s beers became available.”

Doubooni added: “Our Christmas range has been created and we’re well under way with our plans for 2027 which, as ever, will include a whole host of new beers as well as the return of some old favourites.”
