Independent venues nationwide get their Ducks in a Row

Duration Brewing are bringing their Ducks in a Row beers to more than 30 independent pubs, bars, and bottleshops across the UK from Friday to Sunday this week.

Drinkers from Glasgow to Plymouth will have the chance to explore the four-strong family of beers, from Rubber Ducky, a 4.4% ABV pale ale served on cask at selected venues, to Eider, a bold 8% double IPA.

The Duck Series began in March 2024 with Mallard, a 6% ABV New England IPA that quickly sold out. Teal, a 5.4% ABV double dry-hopped pale ale, followed that August. Both quickly became the brewery’s highest-ranked beers on Untappd.

Eider, Duration’s first solo double IPA, joined in 2025, alongside Rubber Ducky, the first Duck release brewed solely for cask, which has since become the brewery’s fastest-selling cask beer.

“Mallard was one of the first beers I got to develop at Duration,” said production manager Andy Arkleyr. “I originally designed the recipe as a homebrewer and always loved the Citra and Azacca hop combination, so brewing it at scale was pretty special. It went down so well that I was asked to build a whole Duck Series around it.

“I’ve always loved brewing really hoppy, juicy beers, and the series became a way to explore these popular styles using different ingredients and techniques. Revisiting them each year lets us build on them, making each version better than the last.”

Participating venues include Hand and Marigold in London, Cambridge Blue in Cambridge, That Beer Place in Chester, and Small Bar in Bristol, alongside Yalm and Hop Rocket in Norwich, and Duration’s own taproom at Abbey Farm in West Acre. Independent bottle shops are also joining the flock, including Wee Beer Shop in Glasgow and Epicurean in Manchester.
