Harvey’s takes to the field on Lewes FC shirts

Harvey’s Brewery has become the official front-of-shirt sponsor of Lewes FC men’s first team, bringing together two historic Lewes institutions.

Harvey’s has been brewing in Lewes since 1790, while Lewes FC was founded just down the road, at The Royal Oak pub, in 1885.

By then, Harvey’s had already been established in the town for nearly a century, so it’s quite possible that a pint of Harvey’s played a part in the club’s beginnings.

The brewery has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Lewes FC, becoming a community partner at The Dripping Pan in 2024, where Harvey’s beers are now served throughout the ground. The new shirt sponsorship marks a natural progression of that relationship.

“Lewes has a very strong identity and an independent spirit that we’re incredibly proud to be part of,” said Paul Matthews, national account manager at Harvey’s Brewery. “There’s a willingness here to challenge convention, while still really valuing our history and traditions, and I think both Harvey’s and Lewes FC reflect that in their own ways.

“We’re proud to get behind something that matters to the town, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the shirts out on the pitch and raising a pint together afterwards.”

John Peel, director at Lewes FC, added: “Our club and Harvey’s Brewery are synonymous with Lewes and it genuinely feels a privilege to carry and represent such an iconic logo. This partnership brings together two fantastic organisations that truly live, breathe, and represent the spirit and history of the town.”
