Multi award-winning social enterprise brewery, bakery, and hospitality company Tap Social Movement has gained B Corp Certification. It joins a growing movement of companies reinventing business for the benefit of all people and the planet.

Tap Social Movement

Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, the achievement demonstrates that Tap Social meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, alongside a commitment to goals that reach beyond shareholder value.

“Having earned a B Impact Score of more than 100 points — significantly exceeding the 80-point threshold required for certification — we’re thrilled to join the global community of companies committed to using business as a force for good,” said Tap Social co-founder Paul Humpherson.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment of teams across every venue and division at Tap Social, and provides independent recognition of the principles that have underpinned our organisation since the beginning.

“As a social enterprise with a proven track record of creating positive social impact — including through our work to support prison leavers and to help build safer, stronger communities — becoming a B Corp represents a natural next step for Tap Social. For us it’s not simply a badge: the process has given us an opportunity to scrutinise every part of our business and ensure that our values are reflected in the way we operate, as well as in the impact we seek to create.”

Tap Social joins a community of more than 10,700 B Corp certified businesses helping to drive social and environmental change around the world. The UK is home to the largest and fastest-growing B Corp community on the planet, with more than 3,000 companies spanning a range of industries and sizes, from media organisations to chocolatiers and fashion retailers.

Chris Turner, chief executive of B Lab UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tap Social Movement to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies that are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Tap Social is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”

Fellow B Corp business Philosophy Consulting supported Tap Social through the certification process, helping them to strengthen key policies and build the evidence needed across the B Impact Assessment.
