Butcombe Pubs & Inns’ The George Inn, Norton St Philip, has been named AA Inn of the Year, England, at the organisation’s annual Bed and Breakfast Awards.
The inn, near Bath, has rooms on site and also in an adjacent property, called The Plaine.
General manager Linda Johnson said she was over the moon. “The team work tirelessly to give our guests the very best experience when they stay with us, from the fabulous food coming out of the kitchen, award-winning Butcombe beer pouring from our taps, stunning rooms, and our top-notch hospitality,” she said. “A huge thanks to all the team — this is for you!”
The grade I-listed 14th century inn, often cited as one of the oldest in England, with a history dating back to 1397, was recently welcomed into Butcombe Boutique Inns. This is Butcombe Group’s premium collection, created to give guests a unique, personalised, and home-from-home experience in some of the most desirable locations in the UK.
