A trip to New Zealand has inspired Cheltenham brewers DEYA to develop two variants of their flagship pale ale Steady Rolling Man.

“Steady Rolling Man is the first beer we ever brewed at DEYA, and remains our most significant beer to date,” says the brewer.
“Steady allowed us to put a stake in the ground as to what DEYA is about, and provided the jumping-off point for us to explore and develop our hoppy, hazy beers — the style that DEYA is most synonymous with. With Steady as our bedrock, DEYA has been able to develop into what it is today.”
The classic Steady Rolling Man recipe features Mosaic, Motueka, Amarillo, and Idaho 7, all from specific suppliers and farms that the brewer has got to know over the years.
DEYA brewers recently spent time in New Zealand, visiting their hop farms and suppliers and selecting their crop year 2025 hops. While out there, a plan for two remixed versions of SRM were hatched with two of favourite NZ hops, and now Nelson and Motueka variants are here.
Both come in at 5.2% ABV. The Motueka version offers notes of tropical lime and kefir lime, while the Nelson variant has notes of passionfruit and Skittles.
