Thornbridge Brewery has been honoured at this year’s Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity Awards in recognition of its outstanding fundraising efforts.
The awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations who have gone above and beyond to support the charity, which provides vital care and support to children and families at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
The Thornbridge award was in the category of corporate special recognition.
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award,” said Simon Webster, chief executive and co-founder of Thornbridge Brewery. “We believe in supporting our local communities, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity does extraordinary work for families across the region. It means a huge amount to us that our efforts have been recognised.”
The charity relies on the generosity of local businesses and supporters to fund vital equipment, research, and family support services that go beyond what NHS funding alone can provide. Thornbridge Brewery’s contribution has been recognised as a standout example of corporate support for the cause over the past year.
In July last year, the brewery pledged to raise £15,000 and has announced it has now exceeded that target. Reaching the milestone has taken hard work from people across the whole business, with funds raised through a range of activities. These include individual fundraising initiatives, customer donations across the pub estate, proceeds from pizzas sold at the Taproom, and contributions from meals enjoyed at the Cricket Inn, the brewery’s gastropub in Sheffield, alongside support for the Pride of Yorkshire trail.
