Singer-songwriter Dean Friedman has partnered with Powder Monkey Brewery to create two signature beers: Lucky Stars and Summer Days.

The collaboration brings together Friedman’s enduring connection with UK audiences, and Powder Monkey’s distinctive approach to British craft brewing.

The beers have launched to coincide with Friedman’s forthcoming UK tour. Designed to reflect the warmth, connection, and shared experience that have defined his four-decade career, Lucky Stars and Summer Days offer approachable, balanced profiles rooted in classic styles — perfect for enjoying at live shows, in pubs, or at home.

Powder Monkey Brewery operates from a restored Royal Navy gunpowder store at Priddy’s Hard, in Gosport. Brewing began in 2021, following the transformation of a long-derelict naval building into a modern production site.

The brewery’s name pays tribute to the ‘powder monkeys’ — young sailors who once carried gunpowder to ship cannons — an influence reflected in its nautical identity and bold, characterful beers.

The collaboration celebrates a shared heritage of storytelling and craftsmanship, uniting Powder Monkey’s maritime roots with Friedman’s long-standing relationship with UK audiences. Many have followed his music from intimate venues to festival stages across the country.

Powder Monkey Summer Days

The partnership was celebrated with a launch event at The Other House, in London, bringing together guests for an afternoon of great beer, music, and company. Attendees enjoyed tastings of Summer Days and Lucky Stars.

“What a great afternoon celebrating our partnership with Dean Friedman and the launch of Summer Days and Lucky Stars,” said Andy Burdon, chief executive of Powder Monkey Group.

“From first pours to great conversations, it was fantastic to see so many people come along to support the launch. Huge thanks to everyone who joined us — and to The Other House for hosting such a special event.”

The beers will be available through selected on-trade venues, including locations aligned with Friedman’s tour dates, as well as via direct-to-consumer channels, including the Powder Monkey online shop.

Tickets to Friedman’s 2026 tour can be purchased here.
