New beer launches and collaborations, in store, on bars, and online, from brewers around the UK
Neptune have released two new cans. Dreamboat is a 5.6% ABV IPA. Citra and Mosaic combine to deliver vibrant waves of mango, citrus, and tropical fruit, rounded off with a gentle pine finish and a crisp, clean bitterness. Olympus is a mountain pale, coming in at 5.2% ABV. Tropical fruit notes from Krush and Luminosa give way to orange from Amarillo, while Strata brings layers of passionfruit, grapefruit, and berries.
Black Iris have collaborated with Nottingham’s Mangata Festival on Moon Wizard, a 4% ABV session IPA. It’s hopped with Mosaic, Krush, and Citra. Black Iris sponsored a stage at the music festival last weekend.
Big Deal (5.4% ABV) is described as a “proper West Coast IPA” by Good Chemistry Brewing. It’s built on punchy American hops, so expect bold citrus alongside fresh pine, and good bitterness. Notes of grapefruit, pine, and lemon.
Brewed with friends at Bohem and Three Hounds, Tmavé is Drop Project’s take on the classic Czech dark lager. Rich toasted malt and gentle caramel notes meet a crisp, clean lager finish, with Saaz hops bringing that classic herbal, lightly spicy character. “Dark in colour, light on its feet, properly drinkable,” say the brewers.
Pomona Island have collaborated with Rivington on I’m With You Derek, a 5% ABV strawberry, raspberry, banana, and coconut smoothie sour. Expect intense aromas of coconut, strawberries, and cream. It drinks deep and thick, with sweet strawberry, coconut cream, and hints of raspberry, bourbon, and vanilla.
Siren and Holy Goat have collaborated on Pitchfork, a 4.7% ABV lemon and apricot wheat beer. It’s a Belgian-inspired beer led up by Michael, from the Siren brew team, and it’s based on a beer he has made before in Italy, alongside a Holy Goat beer he tasted in a pub closer to home in Reading.
“The lemon character is beautifully clean, with apricot and stonefruit notes present, and we used a traditional yeast to further the authenticity with this wheat beer,” say the brewers. “Expect a fresh citrus zing, beautifully subtle herbal notes, and a gentle stonefruit sweetness.”
