Hampshire’s Powder Monkey Brewing Co is taking its flagship Bubbleheads Brut IPA to a much wider audience after securing a new listing with Fuller’s.

The 5.0% ABV gluten-free brut IPA is now available for Fuller’s pubs to order. This gives Powder Monkey access to one of the best-known pub estates in the country. Fuller’s currently operates 185 managed pubs and hotels, alongside 152 tenanted inns.
Inspired by Champagne, Bubbleheads is brewed using enzymes that allow residual sugars to ferment out, creating a light-bodied, highly effervescent beer with a crisp, bone-dry finish. Amarillo and Cashmere hops bring citrus and floral notes, offering drinkers something distinctly different from a conventional IPA.
But behind the beer is a story firmly rooted in Portsmouth. Bubbleheads takes its name from the affectionate nickname for submariners and pays tribute to the Royal Navy’s diving and submarine communities. The beer supports the Vernon Mine Warfare and Diving Monument at Gunwharf Quays, linking its lively effervescence with the Naval heritage that surrounds Powder Monkey’s home.
“Securing the Fuller’s listing is a significant step for Powder Monkey and gives us a fantastic opportunity to introduce Bubbleheads to a much wider audience,” said Jon Radford, managing director of Powder Monkey Group.
“It’s a beer that really stands out, both in terms of its style and the story behind it, and we’re excited to see where this opportunity takes both Bubbleheads and Powder Monkey.”
The Fuller’s listing will be supported by a refreshed visual identity and dedicated point-of-sale campaign, built around Bubbleheads’ distinctive yellow branding and the line: ‘Light. Effervescent. Refreshingly Dry.’
Mark Hamblin, head brewer at Powder Monkey Brewing Co, said: “We wanted Bubbleheads to offer something genuinely different from a typical IPA. The Brut style gives it a light body, lively effervescence and a crisp, bone-dry finish, with a Champagne-like quality that makes it incredibly refreshing.
“It’s still a relatively unusual style in UK pubs, so we’re excited to give more drinkers the chance to discover something different.”
