The excitement around the brewery over the last number of months about this release has been overwhelming, in what has been an ambition of the team here for many years we have just this week, put our O’Hara’s Irish Stout Nitro into 440ml Cans and due to widget technology this will allow you to experience the same brilliant cascading effect and smooth creamy head as a draught pour. You’ll recognise the same great flavours of O’Hara’s Irish Stout with trademark robust roast flavour complemented by a full-bodied and smooth mouth feel.

Nitro Stout:

Nitrogenation was used in stouts to approximate the smooth carbonation typical of cask conditioned ales and has become the norm for kegged Irish stout and now for our canned version, giving a smooth creamy texture to the head.

The brewing process:

We wanted to give a real and truly Irish flavour to our stout that can only be created by craft brewing with locally sourced Irish malts. We use no less than 5 malt and wheat varieties to make our traditional dry Irish stout.  This diverse malt combination is brought to life through our carefully managed mashing and boiling process.  The fabulous flavours and aromas generated are offset by a number of select old style hop variety additions to create this truly complete Irish Stout. Whether you select our nitrogenated draught stout, while you watch the hypnotic sight as the glass slowly cascades into a creamy head, or try our carbonated bottle stout, we hope you appreciate the flavours and enjoy

Appearance:

A deep black colour with a reddish hue when held to the light.  It pours with a thick creamy head.

Aroma:

On the nose the drinker experiences a rich and complex coffee aroma with light liquorice notes. From the bottle, the carbonation accentuates and intensifies the roast aroma.

The taste:

A generous addition of Fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

The menu combo:

Excellent with seafood particularly shellfish and smoked salmon. Also pairs well with strong flavoured cheeses and dry cured meats such as Parma ham.
