A Gloucester taproom, brewery, and distillery has been praised for its sustainable practices and community ethos after being nominated as the UK’s Favourite Local Business.

Gloucester Brewery celebrates its 15th year in the city in 2026. Based at Gloucester Docks, the business is home to taproom and entertainment venue Warehouse 3, alongside Fox’s Kiln Distillery and its brewery. The business has picked up multiple honours for its products at SIBA’s National Independent Beer Awards.

Backed by Gloucester BID (Business Improvement District), the business which receives the most nominations in the competition will win a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card, such as the Gloucester Gift Card, with one person who nominated the winner also receiving a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card.

Gloucester BID is also offering a £500 Gloucester Gift Card to the city business with the most nominations in the competition. If this is also the business which wins UK’s Favourite Local Business overall, the £500 Gloucester Gift Card prize will go to the Gloucester business with the second highest number of nominations in the competition.

“Gloucester Brewery was built from our founder Jared’s garden shed, growing into the brewery, distillery, and taproom we have today,” said managing director Kai Reeves.

“It’s important for us that we reflect the community we serve with initiatives that do good locally, including supporting domestic violence charity Hollie Gazzard Trust, emergency care charity GWAAC, and Gloucestershire-based blood cancer charity Linc, with 10% of our profits on a specific products donated to the charities.

“We also work with Art in the City, creating a display space and sales platform for local artists, partner with local sports clubs, and provide free venue hire to charities. Our partnership with Gloucester Cathedral on CathedrALE sees 10% of the proceeds from each can supporting the conservation of the Cathedral’s 14th century medieval cloisters.”

He added: “Warehouse 4 is one of the best places to watch live music in the area and the experience we offer is at the heart of everything we do. The fact that we brew and distil everything we serve at Warehouse 4, alongside supplying hundreds of local pubs, restaurants and hotels, is key to our success.

“As a nation, we lost half of all our pubs this century, including a pub every day during the pandemic. The support we have locally is fundamental to our longevity as a business, so being nominated as the UK’s Favourite Local Business 2026 by our customers is brilliant.”

Claire Knight, marketing and business engagement lead at Gloucester BID, said: “We’re incredibly proud to see Gloucester Brewery and many other city businesses nominated in the national UK’s Favourite Local Business 2026 competition. It is our local businesses that make the city a great place to live and work and they deserve our recognition and support.

“It is the business who has the most nominations who will win the national title of the UK’s Favourite Local Business, so please take a moment to nominate so we can bring this prize home to Gloucester.”
