Harvey’s Brewery has announced plans to create a collection of eight premium en-suite rooms above its brewery shop, on Cliffe High Street, Lewes.

Currently in development, the project will see part of the brewery’s former office space transformed. It will bring new life to a well-known part of the site, while retaining a strong connection to Harvey’s long-standing history in the town.
Office-based staff have recently relocated to the brewery’s depot site, in Daveys Lane, Lewes.
Working with JSA Architects, Cheesmur Building Contractors, and local interior designers Pfeiffer Design, the rooms are being designed to offer a premium experience, with the unique distinction of being located at the very heart of Sussex’s oldest working brewery.
The development will complement Harvey’s popular brewery tours, giving guests the opportunity to pair an overnight stay with an immersive experience of the brewery and its facilities.
“Having brewed on this site for eight generations, we’re very conscious of the history around us,” said Hamish Elder, chairman and managing director of Harvey’s Brewery.
“This project allows us to preserve that connection, while opening up a new chapter for the brewery. It’s an exciting step in broadening what we offer, and in welcoming more people to experience Lewes and Harvey’s.”
Harvey’s hopes the new accommodation will boost the local economy by encouraging more visitors to stay in Lewes, supporting local businesses and showcasing everything the town has to offer. The rooms are expected to open towards the end of the year.
