Dolcita Tropical IPA

Eight Degrees Brewing - Dolcita Tropical IPA

Dolcita is a brand-new hop variety with intense stone fruit aromas, tropical flavours and creamy caramel notes, elevating this IPA into pure sunshine in a glass. This summer sweetheart evokes the feeling of breezy afternoons and indulgent sunshine days – just perfect for a glorious Irish summer. Fingers crossed…

Style: Tropical IPA
Malt: Irish pale ale malt.
Hops: Dolcita, Citra
ABV: 5.7%
IBUs: 59

Tasting notes
Colour/appearance: a light tangerine colour in the glass with a white head.
Aroma: full on tropical pineapple and sweet, ripe peach.
Flavour:this is a tropical fruit salad in a beer glass. We’ve got luscious pineapple, juicy peach and sweet melon flavours coming through on the palate, all the way to a bright citrus ending.
Aftertaste: bitter tangerine to finish.

Food pairings
All that tropical fruit will work brilliantly alongside fragrant Thai flavours. Try a fresh green chicken curry or, for something bolder, a rich red veggie-loaded curry. Dolcita will cut through the coconut, dance happily with the herbs and tone down the spices. Vietnamese spring rolls are also a great pairing. These rice paper rolls, filled with crunchy vegetables, green herbs and your protein of choice are delicious alongside a glass of beer. Grilled fish is an excellent match, as the aromatic hops won’t overpower the delicate flavour. To finish, it’s got to be a passionfruit cheesecake: this IPA will contrast with the creamy tang of the bake and the passionfruit is a lovely complement to the fruity notes in the beer.

Availability: 500ml bottles, limited draught.
Launch Date: April 2026.
