The next pub in our pub spotlight series is Ye Old Ship Inn, situated in the seaside town of Warrenpoint in County Down. It’s the leading venue in the town for live music and sport and is popular with both locals and tourists alike. It’s a pub that attracts a mixed crowd of young and old and has recently had some refurbishments, including a new beer garden.

Ye Old Ship Inn — also known as The Ship — is also a great supporter of local brewery Mourne Mountains. They currently have the Mourne Mist pilsner lager and the Session IPA on tap. It doesn’t get much more local than this pairing: Mourne Mountains Brewery is a mere 1 ½ miles away from The Ship! They had a tap takeover in the beer garden last year and it went really well. Hopefully, there will be more tap takeovers in the future — they’re a great way for a pub to test the waters with a variety of beer styles and see what’s popular with customers.

If you’re in the area be sure to drop into this lovely, vibrant, pub for some live music and some very good and very local beer!
