Sorghum brewing is not widely know outside of Africa, despite being the main grain in beer on the continent.
A lot of brewers are reluctant to experiment with sorghum because they are unfamiliar with its characteristics and unsure which hop varieties work well with sorghum beers, especially if they’re trying to make a modern sorghum craft beer.
So Yakima Chief Hops have worked with Rwandan braft Brewery Kweza to identify a hop bundle that works well with sorghum and is flexible enough to allow a variety of beer styles.
Luke Kulchstein from Yakima in Europe told us about their experiments, what they found, and what hops they chose for their hop bundle.
Now they want brewers to try it out.
Brewers can get a 40% discount on the hop bundle, a resource pack or recipes, artwork, and tips and techniques, as well as a way to work with the experienced brewers in Kweza.
