Fuller’s Griffin Brewery is marking 180 years of brewing heritage next month by unveiling an Anniversary Porter and offering special behind-the-scenes brewery tours.

In 1845, John ‘Bird’ Fuller partnered with Henry Smith and John Turner to establish Fuller, Smith & Turner at the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, West London.
Over the next 180 years, the company built a strong reputation for quality and innovation, crafting iconic beers such as London Pride and ESB. Since Asahi acquired the business in 2019, it has continued to invest in Fuller’s legacy, blending modern advancement with a respect for heritage.
Fuller’s new 180th Anniversary Porter (7% ABV) blends pale, extra dark crystal, brown, and chocolate malts, layered over classic Fuggles hops. There’s deep chocolate richness, complemented by raisin and burnt sugar nuances, resulting in a dark, complex brew with a warming depth.
Fuller’s has also unveiled a gift pack for its Imperial Stout (10.7% ABV), offering tastes of bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, creamy malt, burnt fruit, and notes of Turkish delight and marshmallow.
And no year would be complete without a Fuller’s Vintage Ale. Fuller’s 180th anniversary year calls for something truly special. The 2025 vintage has an ABV of 8.4% and blends modern Most hops with older UK varieties Pioneer and Phoenix. This Vintage Ale experience offers red fruit and citrus notes in combination with lemon and molasses from the UK hops. The malt bill includes extra dark crystal, which brings raisin and fruitcake notes, while Caragold adds caramel sweetness.

The special Fuller’s Griffin Brewery tours will visit parts of the site not usually open to the public. Visitors will also be able to view a recently certified World Origin Site plaque, marking the spot where Fuller’s Brewery was established by Fuller, Smith & Turner in 1845.
The brewer will be partnering with Fuller’s pubs and hotels to give something back to their valued customers. When a customer buys a drink in a Fuller’s managed pub from 10th to 12th November, between 18.45 and 20.25 — the times marking the years since Fuller’s was established — they will enjoy half of the drink on the house.
“Fuller’s Griffin Brewery has been at the heart of the community for 180 years, producing landmark brews that focus on quality and provenance,” said head brewer Guy Stewart.
“Our commitment to craftsmanship has meant Fuller’s beers have truly stood the test of time, and we are proud to be celebrating this milestone with our 180th Anniversary Porter.”
