As we start November with sugar come downs, I wanted to bring you all up to speed with the business as it has been a very busy time here.

New Releases

Just over two weeks ago we released our very first IPA: Straight From The Start (SFTS), 5% Hazy

A bold HAZY IPA at 5%, is as transparent as its name—offering an unadulterated, full-flavored journey from the very first sip. No detours, just pure, hazy satisfaction!

This version is absolutely jam packed with Idaho 7 & Ariana hops, Muntons Malt from Get Er Brewed & Haze Heaven Yeast from WHC The latest in labels designed by Warren – giving a very prismatic & kaleidoscope vibe.

Available in the usual outlets:

– Kegs – Sunflower, Northern Lights, Bullhouse East & Woodworkers

– Cans –  Bullhouse East, DC Wines, Vineyard, The Sipster, Donard Wines, First & Last Off Licence, JD Tiplers, KWM Wines, McGarry’s Fine Wines, Neil Wines, Gee’s, Fairley’s

I dropped off the very last cans with our distributor Salty Buoy earlier this week, so get in touch with your favourite stockists to get it before it’s gone!

‍

SFTS hasn’t been our only release since we last spoke; we also reintroduced Simcoe Hopfenlager, our Simcoe Dry-Hopped Lager — a seamless blend of classic lager finesse and the vibrant essence of Simcoe hops. Immerse yourself in crisp refreshment, where malt sweetness meets citrus and pine notes.

It’s bigger, hoppier and in 440MLS!

Simcoe Hopfenlager was originally brewed for Beer52 for February’s taste of Northern Ireland, but I felt it would make the perfect Summer lager, so I dialled up the Simcoe and released it again in late July!

Imagine the hop intensity of a pale ale with a crisp lager finish, works well with a lot of food dishes also!

SFTS fresh off the packaging line!

Both beers brewed under contract Heaney Brewery.

Is this the last new release this year? Who knows…

Merch

We are in the midst of adding some merch to our offerings, and I can finally announce that we have some T-shirts available!

Our friends at Embroid Me Print Me have worked with us in getting this small batch run out.

‍

We are looking into launching our own webshop for merch soon, so keep an eye out for that – but if you would like to pre order drop me an email.

Embroidered on the front and screen printed of the logo on the back!

Currently available in S, M, L, XL & XXL.

Hopefully we can cheers soon with some new glassware…

Festivals

Portrush Beer Festival

We were invited to take part in this year’s Portrush Beer Festival and we had an absolute ball – we shared a pitch with Heaney and had some great chats with everyone during the festival.

For those who missed out we poured SFTS & Simcoe Hopfenlager from Tilt & Pour and Heaney’s Blackberry Picking (Blackberry Porter) & Session IPA.  Three of these were pouring for the first time ever that weekend and were all very well received!

We were joined by Modest Beer, Bullhouse, Beer Hut, Out Of Office, Our Brewery, Brehon, Third Barrell & Lacada – a showcasing of beers from across the island!

This two-day festival was non ticketed and first come first served, with long periods of the day at capacity and many punters braving the stormy weather before getting in!

If you can go next year, we would highly recommend it to everyone!  It proved to be a great space for everyone to enjoy beers and chat, regardless of whether you’re a beer geek or tagging along with a mate!

CAMRA Beer Festival

Finally, we can chat about Belfast Beer & Cider Festival 2024, its back and this year is located in East Belfast’s Banana Block at Portview Trade Centre.

Showcasing 100 beers from across the UK & Ireland, we are fortunate to be a part of this year’s festival – see list of breweries – https://belfastbeerfestival.co.uk/beer_cider/beer-list/

Tickets available at https://belfastbeerfestival.co.uk/tickets/ advanced purchasing is recommended as at the time of writing, Saturday is already sold out!

Hopefully we will see you there!

Indie Beer Asset from SIBA

Indie Beer – SIBA

Earlier this week the Society of Independent Brewers launched their Indie Beer campaign!

For those who don’t know who SIBA are, The Society of Independent Brewers is an organisation representing the interests of independent breweries in the UK.

This initiative champions drinkers supporting independent breweries across the UK, including Northern Ireland.

From our humble beginnings as a blog, we’ve always championed local independent beer, striving to amplify the scene. This campaign builds on that mission by enhancing transparency of ownership.

Due to the hard work of William Mayne of Bullhouse Brew Co we now have our own NI district with many members such as Bullhouse, Boundary, Modest, Lacada, Heaney, Rough Brothers & Mourne Mountains working towards changing the conversation in our scene!

At Tilt & Pour, we brew our beer at Heaney in Bellaghy under contract. By choosing our beer, you’re supporting not just us, but everyone within our supply chain. We prioritise using local businesses to ensure we all grow together! Join us in celebrating indie beer and supporting our local brewers!

Business Update

We’ve finished Year 2 of our accounts and are already working on plans for the next iteration of the business. 2025 will be an interesting year for sure, I will discuss more about our plans closer to the time!

Now time for a coffee, had some beautiful coffee from Exemplar yesterday – may have to do a bigger order next time, as it won’t last at this rate!
