Sorghum is the 5th largest grain crop in the world and the heart of brewing in Africa. But very few brewers outside Africa have ever made a sorghum brew.
Jessi from Kweza Craft Brewery in Rwanda gave an overview of its use and place in African brewing during our chat.
Kweza have teamed with Yakima Chief Hops to make a unique offer in order to encourage people to experiment with making beer with sorghum. One of the main things they’ve found is that people don’t know where to start or what hops work best with sorghum.
So they’ve worked to identify a hop bundle that works well with sorghum and is very flexible. Now they want brewers to try it out.
Brewers can get a 40% discount on the hop bundle, a resource pack or recipes, artwork, and tips and techniques, as well as a way to work with the experienced brewers in Kweza.
