Slovenian craft brewery Green Gold Brewing is launching in the UK this summer, with a series of tap takeover events around the country.

Green Gold Brewing

Green Gold is one of the leading breweries in Slovenia, based in the Savinja Valley, in the middle of Slovenia’s thriving hop farm region. Indeed, the family owners have their own 150-year-old hop farm, covering 32 acres.

Green Gold have been brewing award-winning craft beers for more than nine years and are already exporting to Italy, Spain, Croatia, Poland, the US, and soon, Japan.

With their June launch and tap takeover tour titled Hop to the Beginning — a nod to Black Sabbath’s final tour, Back to the Beginning — the brewery are looking forward to bringing their beer and rock ‘n’ roll vibe to the UK.

With the tour kicking off on Thursday, 5th June, at the Dutch Taproom in central London, the team will then head to The Blind Tiger, in Peterborough, on 6th June. They will travel to Brew York Walmgate on 8th June, where the June leg ends with a collaboration with that brewery on 9th June.

The tap takeover will give visitors a chance to try the beers and meet the Green Gold team. There will be music, competitions, giveaways, samples and an introduction to Slovenian Brewing and its rich heritage and tradition.

Gaining exposure

“We are really looking forward to entering the UK market and just can’t wait to get going,” said Green Gold Brewing director Luka Rojnik.

“We have had really successful influencer campaigns, which saw us on podcasts and working with influential people within the beer community, and we had a great reaction, so we are confident that our beers will be well received in the UK.

“The talks have been nearly six months in the making, so it’s now time to get pouring and have some fun.”

Simon Williams is a director of Lets Market Ltd and Green Gold Brewing’s UK representative. “We first met Luka and the guys at a beer festival in Poland last October and, after a few meetings, we visited them at their brewery and family hop farm in Slovenia,” he said. “We were blown away by the size and quality of the operation.

“We put a plan together which included exposure through podcasts, influencers, the recent launch of their UK social media, and connecting them with the right distributor.

“We knew, once we got them into the UK, we would be able to scale the brewery, due to the quality of the beers, branding, and their overall vibe. We can’t wait to get going!”
