Pilsner Premium Irish Lager

Eight Degrees Brewing - Pilsner Premium Irish Lager

This unorthodox lager has a subtle biscuity malt base balanced with noble hop bitterness and a spicy aroma. Here in Mitchelstown we have a unique advantage: we are able to brew with beautifully soft water from Ireland’s highest inland mountains, ensuring that every sip of our crisp and adventurous Pilsner is more satisfying than the last.

Style: Pilsner lager
Malt: Irish pale ale and lager malt.
Hops: Saaz.
Strength: 4% ABV
Bitterness: 32 IBUs

Tasting notes
Colour/appearance: golden straw with a, white head. Brilliant shine. You could even say it glows.
Aroma: fresh, floral and grass, like a sweet summer meadow.
Flavour: a gentle malt sweetness – like a digestive biscuit – clean and delicate, but with plenty of sophisticated flavour. There’s enough bitterness to make it interesting, and a little peppery spice from the hops.
Aftertaste: light on the palate with a snappy, refreshing clean finish. Very sessionable.

Food pairings: Taco heaven! Whether you have fish, meat, veggie or vegan tacos – we’re partial to some pulled tofu at EDB HQ – this is the beer that you’ll want to sip as you assemble and enjoy your taco meal. With the malt sweetness, this pilsner is the ideal pizza pairing for a chill out evening, plays happily with shellfish – try it with a pint of prawns – and will also work with some popcorn for your home movie night.

Launch Date: April 2025
Serving temperature: 8 degrees celsius.
Availability: Pint bottle.
