40ft Brewery has announced that its new venue, 40ft Blackhorse Road, in Walthamstow, will officially open its doors on Friday, 8th August.

40ft taproom

Designed to be a more ‘grown-up’ version of the original Dalston taproom, the vast new space, situated on Lockwood Way, along the famous Blackhorse Beermile, will serve the local community.

There will be fun daytime events for children and their parents, a dog park, fully hireable spaces for big events, food pop-ups, all-day parties, and DJ and Comedy nights.

With 100 seats available inside and 100 in the courtyard garden, 40ft Blackhorse Road will join a community of independent brewers, offering up a bit of their Dalston magic with a roster of events for locals, and those venturing to Walthamstow, from Monday through to Sunday.

It will open as a blank canvas of sorts, inviting guests to recommend everything from creative design aspects, to future event schedules. All ideas will be considered, eventually shaping not only the look and feel of the space, but also serving the people who supported the venture from the offset.

For those wishing to be a part of the story, a crowdfunder campaign will run until Thursday, 7th August. The campaign has been curated to reflect the brand’s community spirit and to reward backers with a range of incentives to be enjoyed at one of the brand’s ventures.

High environmental and social standards

Uniquely, backers can exchange their investment for double money drinks credit at all venues, and there is also a range of one-off rewards for true fans, be it an invitation to an exclusive launch party, lifetime discounts,or even a private party for 200 people, with drinks thrown in.

2025 marks the brewery’s 10th anniversary, and it continues to go from strength to strength. It has recently become B Corp certified, honouring the brand’s high standards of social and environmental practices, transparency, and accountability.

Over the past decade, 40ft Brewery has become known as a leading force in the East London community. What started with three friends in a Hackney houseshare brewing for their legendary house parties, 40ft opened the UK’s first shipping container brewery in 2015, in a Dalston car park. It quickly established itself at the beating heart of the Dalston hospitality scene.

In-keeping with the evolution of the London brewery scene, May saw a rebrand of 40ft Brewery, with two of its signature brews — Disco Pils and Dalston Sunrise — now at a lower ABV, to reflect consumer drinking habits. There’s a new core range, which includes Main Squeeze, a hazy IPA, Rewind, a West Coast IPA, and Deep, 40ft’s longest standing brew, a dry Irish stout now poured on Nitro.
