Introducing our latest seasonal, A-TIPA-CAL. This isn’t your typical, triple IPA. Experimenting with our friends at Yakima Chief Hops, we have ladened this TIPA with their YCH 301 Trial – Flash frozen wet hops pelletized through their Cryo Hops® process! YCH 301 Simcoe® and Citra® with a dash of Cryo Pop® Original Blend make this one ATYPICAL IPA!
Head Brewer, Bill Laukitis tells us:
“We’ve wanted to brew a TIPA for a while, but if we were gonna go for it, I wanted it to be more than just a high-ABV IPA. When I came across the YCH301 trials in my reading, my interest was sparked and I knew these were the hops for our TIPA, so I picked up the phone to our friends at Yakima Chief Hops. We decided to go all in and started organizing frozen shipping to get these special hops in hand. The beer… well we wanted to showcase the hops, and I wanted a clean but balanced malt backbone so we focused on a simple grist and clean yeast. The mouthfeel of this brew is brought forward by the hops and the alcohol. It’s a very enjoyable beer. The fresh Simcoe and Citra are expressive on the nose, straight through to the taste. It’s a real experience of a beer and dangerously drinkable for 10.0%. It really is one A-TIPA-CAL Triple IPA!”
