Welcome to the new Beoir website. Here’s what you need to know.

The development required a complete rebuild and, while all user accounts were migrated across, the security set-up means that passwords were not. So, to log in to the site, please use the “Lost Your Password” link on the homepage login box and set yourself a new password.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to bring the forum across so we’ve taken the decision to archive it, and all the old posts can still be found here. For any conversations you’d like to continue, please start a thread on the new forum.

I’ve taken the executive decision to remove the Directory functionality. Again it would have been a major headache to try and migrate this to a new platform, and I also think that we’ve outgrown the need for a list of every pub and restaurant that serves Irish craft beer. And that’s before the problem of trying to keep it updated and relevant. If you still think this should exist, check out Drink.Irish. The A-Z listing of Irish beer and cider brands has been updated and reorganised (link) and I plan to use this as the basis of a more detailed information resource on Irish brewing and cider-making.

Nothing has changed with regard to your membership. If you have a recurring payment (thank you!) that will keep going for as long as you want it to. The site and all but the members’ section of the forum remains available to all, while membership gives you a say in what we do, and maybe the occasional pint, when possible.

Any other questions, stick them on the forum, or we’re still on the Twitter.

And finally a big thank you to Digitally Sound for masterminding and implementing the migration.

Cheers!

John
