Volume two of Pintjes, a zine from renowned Brussels-based illustrator Selkies and award-winning writer Eoghan Walsh, has been launched.

Pintjes

The publication celebrates what makes Brussels’ best cafés and bars both iconic and beloved of the city’s residents. The first edition of Pintjes sold out within one hour at its launch in December last year.

Each limited-edition print run focuses on a neighbourhood or district in Brussels with a high concentration of iconic, interesting, or just downright eccentric cafés. It celebrates what makes them such a unique and essential part of Brussels’ fabric, in word and image.

For volume two, Eoghan and Selkies have focused on a relatively new arrival on the Brussels bar scene, outdoor cafés. From guinguettes to buvettes, pavilions to and park bars, Pintjes celebrates the joys of drinking outdoors.

The zine showcases favourites across the city, from Kiosk Radio’s countercultural cool to the echoes of Expo ‘58 at Guinguette André and the old school charm of the Buvette Saint Sebastiaan.
