Mourne Mist is Changing!

Yes, that’s right! After picking up a silver medal in the SIBA North West Region Premium Lager & Pilsner category of 2020’s Digital Beer Awards, on top of the two gold stars it was awarded at the Great Taste Awards 2017, we’ve decided it’s time for a change.

So instead of the usual light green crown caps, Mist is now crowned with silver caps. Of course the beer inside is still the same great-tasting Pilsner lager – full of biscuity malt and herbal, earthy Saaz hops. We would never change that!

That is not the only thing that has changed. We have also got a new label to go with the new caps, what do you think?

Mist is our flagship beer. It’s the beer we brew most regularly, and we’re really proud of the consistency we achieve with each batch. We’re lucky to have access to the best quality ingredients – such an important part of brewing great beer – thanks to our friends at Geterbrewed.

Our water supply comes from the high Mournes and is very soft, which is perfect for lager brewing. We use Crisp Extra Pale Clear Choice malted barley as our base malt, with Wheat malt to improve the head and Light Munich to add malty complexity to the brew. The Czech hop varieties Premiant and Saaz are added at three different points during the boil for bitterness, flavour and aroma. Then we ferment the brew with our favourite lager yeast, W34/70 from Fermentis.

You can grab yourself a bottle or three at our usual stockists. Or you can order a 12-pack from our online shop for home delivery (chilled in NI and RoI, excluding Donegal) or free collection from the brewery on Thursday afternoons.
