All the Mescan elves have been burning the candle at both ends to get everything ready for Christmas. We’ve added a few treats to our ‘merch’ which just might sort some Christmas presents for you. Anything can be ordered online and either delivered anywhere in the country or picked up if you happen to live nearby.

Here’s a quick swing through what’s available (plus beer of course!):

Mescan Beanies

Now that the chilly season is upon us, a beanie could be just the business. Each one is embroidered with the Mescan logo right here in Westport, and made of 100% recycled polyester – because plastic doesn’t belong in the sea…

They are one size, unisex and come in classy Black, Navy and Maroon colours.

Mescan T-Shirts

Do T-shirts ever go out of fashion? Well we really hope not – our brewer boys here at Mescan certainly don’t think so, they’re our best customers. Choose from the Classic with a small logo on the front and one with a little more impact on the back, the 7 Virtues tee or one with specially commissioned Mescan artwork*. We’ve restocked recently so if you were disappointed previously, please check again. Most are available in S, M, L and XL, with the odd bigger size still up for grabs.

* There’s a story behind the artwork – we’ll tell you that when we get a chance

Mescan Glasses

We’ve said it before and we’ll keep on saying it – Mescan tastes better out of a properly shaped Belgian beer glass, particularly if it says Mescan on the side of course. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, once you keep refilling it of course.

Abalus Barrel Aged Beers

This is something unique and very exclusive. Just in time for Christmas, we are releasing a limited number of bottles from Abalus series of barrel-aged beers in presentation 750ml sharing bottles. These are very special beers aged in Cognac and Whiskey casks, then bottled by hand with tender, loving care with cork and cap closure.

Abalus is available in four different, and dare we say rather wonderful incarnations, Red Tripel matured in Cognac casks, Red Tripel matured in Whiskey casks and a Baltic Porter matured in Whiskey casks.

The beers are ready to enjoy now or will further mature if kept. They will evolve over time and are suitable for cellaring between 10°C and 15°C.

So there you go, that’s our Christmas offering and we do hope you’ll find something there to put in somebody’s stocking this year.

Mescan Brewery

An Irishman and a Belgian who used to be vets, now we brew Belgian-style beer by hand in the West of Ireland. We love beer, especially Belgian beer. Bart is Belgian and over the years Cillian has come to love the Belgian styles of beer. We decided that within 5 years we would be running a successful microbrewery specialising in Belgian style beers.
