King Nelson is our freshest Urban Jungle release. A single hop IPA that showcases the New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hop, this beer is also our first collaboration. And we were delighted to brew it with our friends at Craft Central at the BRÚ brewhouse in Trim—it was hard work, but a rewarding and fun brew day!

Craft Central is an independent craft beer specialist off-licence based in Dublin City Centre with over 250 beers on offer. They’re as knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer as we are, meaning that this collaboration was guaranteed to be a huge (and delicious) success. Plus this was the first time they’ve teamed up with a brewery to brew their own beer!

Radka from Craft Central says:

‘Brewing our first beer for Craft Central with BRÚ was a wonderful experience! Now we know how it feels to be part of the creation process from scratch, and “giving a birth” to the beer comes with so much responsibility. We knew what we wanted, teamed up with people who helped us to make it happen and we are so happy with the result!

King Nelson is a celebration of this unique Nelson Savin hop and it truly shines. With every sip you can discover the whole world of flavours playing nicely together. Keeping its IPA bitterness, alongside a juicy fruity mango and white wine notes…and look at the colour! It’s a beautiful IPA.’

King Nelson is a beautiful and bold single hop IPA that brings Nelson Sauvin to the centre stage, brimming with the aroma and flavours of juicy mango, sweet lychee, honeyed apricots and crushed gooseberry alongside nuanced white wines qualities. The unique characteristics of this New Zealand hop are complemented with a base of five malts, giving this beer a satisfying mouthfeel while letting the Nelson Sauvin shine through.

Our Head Brewer, Francesco, was delighted with how the beer turned out, admitting;

 “It’s a beer I’ve wanted to brew for so long. I love wine as well, and finding a hop that could give me some subtle winey notes was a revelation for me.“

And the team at Craft Central were just as excited about the concept and recipe. We’re all extremely happy with the result and we can’t wait until you try it.
