Introducing Hop Adventure Strata

The Hop Adventure Series has been developed to showcase some of the most interesting hops from around the world. With this in mind we designed a beer that would allow the hops to display their full flavour and aroma. The style of beer brewed is a single hop India Pale Ale meaning one hop was used for bittering, aroma and several rounds of dry-hopping.

This edition showcases Strata – A brand new hop cultivar that has received wide-spread acclaim, and for good reason! Strata has A complexity that lends itself perfectly to A single hopped beer, delivering vibrant aromas of pineapple, peachy stone-fruit, and zesty citrus, along with some subtle herbal and cannabis notes.

The hop:

The Strata hop has many layers of different fruit flavor, dried and fresh, anchored with a dried chili-cannabis-funk. Late hot side additions using Strata bring out layers of rounded-tropical plus bright-fresh fruit flavors; dry hopping yields more grapefruit and cannabis. Other descriptors include passion fruit, strawberry and dank.

 The brewing process:

An IPA/Session-IPA/Pale Ale (and believe it or don’t, lager hop) with many layers of different fruit flavor, dried and fresh, anchored with a dried chili-cannabis-funk that does not have any diesel, machine oil, or catty ‘baggage’. Late hot side additions bring out layers of rounded-tropical plus bright-fresh fruit flavors; dry hopping yields more grapefruit and cannabis. Nice with roasted malts too.

Appearance:

Light golden colour with a light haze and a white head.

Aroma:

Very complex tropical, stone-fruit and citrus along with subtle herbal and

cannabis notes.

The taste:

Juicy tropical fruit flavours with subtle herbal tones for added complexity. A clean malt profile allows the hops to shine. Finishes with a refreshing bitterness..

The menu combo:

Perfect for matching with a spicy, diavolo Pizza, Fish and Chips and blue cheese.
