Swannay Brewery have won a gold medal at the International Brewing Awards with their New England pale ale, You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know (YDK).
It’s a modern hazy pale ale featuring bold aromas and flavours from American and New Zealand hops.
The beer now advances as a contender for the overall competition trophy, which will be announced at the medal presentation ceremony in London this May.
“We’re thrilled and humbled to receive this gold medal,” said Lewis Hill, of Swannay Brewery. “The judging criteria in this competition is incredibly tough, we are against some of the world’s biggest and most technically advanced breweries.
“YDK was a real team effort, with every member of the brewing team having input. This award is fantastic validation that we’re continuing to deliver on Rob Hill’s original vision of creating world-class Orkney beers.”
