There’s a new edition of Amity Brew Co’s ‘Old School’ IPA Harmony, created in collaboration with the Leeds Co-Hoperative group.
The beer is made using freshly-harvested UK Cascade hops which have been grown by Co-Hoperative members in their gardens around Leeds.
It is inspired by classic fresh hop beer Celebration, which is made by pioneering US craft brewer Sierra Nevada.
“One Sunday in September, the growers came to the Amity terrace with their hauls, lovingly cultivated throughout summer, and we spent the day picking the bines, with a few beers in hand,” said the brewer.
“The cones we picked were then added directly to a brew that same day! The resulting beer is one of the freshest examples of a super hoppy IPA you can sample right now.”
Expect a balanced blend of vibrant citrus and zesty orange peel, complemented by a rich crystal amber malt base. This provides a malty foil to the assertive bitterness levels delivered by the Cascade hops.
The beer is available on the Amity webshop now. There are also ‘ultra-exclusive’ casks of Harmony in Whitelocks, Meanwood Tavern, and Calverley Cricket Club in Leeds, and Starling and The Inn At Cheltenham Parade in Harrogate.
It’s Beer Today’s 20th anniversary this month!
