How Breweries Can Use Barrels to Crate a Unique Brewery Heritage

A lot of breweries treat barrels almost as a disposable item, replacing them on a regular basis. But as Alex Sakon from ASC Barrels said in our brewery and barrel, brewer roundtable this is a waste of the potential that the barrel represents.

A barrel will become a unique asset with flavours and micro-organisms that will not be found anywhere else in that same ratio. A well-maintained barrel can become a unique asset of the brewery allowing it to produce beers for direct sale and for blending -beer that no other brewery can produce.

Alex was talking during our recent brewer roundtable on barrels with UK craft brewery 🇬🇧Wild Beer Co., Croatian craft brewery 🇭🇷 Zmajska Pivovara, and Italian craft brewery 🇮🇹 Brasseria della Fonte.
