Greene King is celebrating another year of record-breaking fundraising for its long-term charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support, raising more than £4 million during 2025.

During a 13-year partnership, the pub company and brewer has raised £25m for Macmillan, thanks to tireless fundraising across its 1,600 managed pubs, breweries, and support centres.
The first six months of 2025 saw Greene King direct its fundraising to support Macmillan’s Support Line, which provides those living with cancer and their loved ones with confidential emotional, practical, and financial information and support. Team members and customers united to raise nearly £1.7m.
During the second half of the year, fundraising efforts focused on supporting Macmillan professionals, with the company raising more than £2.3m.
Greene King’s top fundraising pub, the Waterfold Farm, in Bury, raised more than £23,000 for Macmillan in 2025. General manager, Ashley Dale, said: “Supporting Macmillan means the world to the team. Almost everyone knows someone affected by cancer, and while that can be tough, the team finds comfort in knowing their efforts help fund the brilliant support Macmillan provides everyday via its Support Line and Macmillan nurses.
“Our ‘little and often’ fundraising events, like quiz nights, raffles, and cake sales, really do add up and bring our community together. I’m so proud of the team and am grateful for the generosity shown by our amazing customers.”

Nick Mackenzie, chief executive of Greene King, said: “Our pubs sit at the heart of communities, offering a welcoming space for people to come together, connect, and support one another through life’s highs and lows. It’s this shared commitment to support our communities and make a positive difference that unites Greene King and Macmillan.
“A massive thank you to our teams, customers, and suppliers for rallying behind Macmillan once again, making these milestones possible. Together we’ve raised £4m that will make a tangible difference — helping to keep Macmillan’s Support Line available when people need it most, and supporting Macmillan professionals to continue delivering life-changing care every day.”
Gemma Peters, chief executive at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Greene King for raising a record-breaking £4m in 2025, and for their unwavering commitment across fourteen fantastic years of partnership.
“Greene King colleagues and customers across the country have once again raised the bar, throwing themselves into fundraising with unrelenting energy and determination to support people living with cancer.
“As a charity that relies almost entirely on public donations, the generosity of partners like Greene King means we can continue to do whatever it takes to get everyone with cancer vital support, whoever and wherever they are.”
