Gohei-mochi Recipe (Rice Cake with Sweet Walnut Miso Paste) | Cooking with Dog

We are making Gohei-mochi, a simple snack using rice and walnut miso paste. The sweet walnut miso paste is delicious roasted. The sansho pepper gives it a little bit of kick!

How to make Gohei Mochi

(5 pieces) Cook Time: 30 minutes

330g Fresh Steamed Rice with Amaranth Grain (11.6 oz)

– Walnut Miso Paste –
1 tbsp Miso
1 1/2 tbsp Raw Sugar
1 tbsp Mirin or Sake
20g Roasted Walnuts (0.7 oz)
1/2 tbsp Toasted White Sesame Seeds

– Toppings –
Toasted White Sesame Seeds
Sansho Pepper or Shichimi Chili Powder – optional

5 Wooden Popsicle Sticks
Aluminum Foil
Vegetable Oil

* 1 tablespoon (tbsp) = 15 ml, 1 teaspoon (tsp) = 5 ml
