Spanish brewer Garage Barcelona has raised more than €230,000 via a crowdfunding round aimed at its burgeoning UK community. They were targeting a minimum of €200,000.

The brewery behind top-rated Soup IPA and one of Europe’s most talked-about craft beer festivals, MASH, has opened its doors to UK investors via Crowdcube.
Founded in 2015 by Barcelona-based brewer Alberto Zamborlin and British business partner James Welsh, Garage began life in a tiny brewpub hidden in a converted paper factory in central Barcelona.
Today, Garage produces 5,000 hectolitres annually, and exports to 34 countries, with the UK being the top destination for its beer. It also hosts MASH, an annual festival that draws 2,000 guests from around the world. Now, the team is offering UK beer enthusiasts the chance to own a part of that story.
The funding will allow enhancements to its brewery in the Sant Andreu district in Barcelona, expanding cold storage, improving production efficiency, and supporting growth across the wholesale and export side of the business, notably for the growing UK market.
There is also a plan for a flagship ‘hub’ taproom in central Barcelona, combining world-class beer, street art, music, and the brand’s award-winning pizzetta concept.
The business has seen a 240% increase in web traffic from UK visitors in the past year, indicating a significant opportunity to serve the British beer drinking market. Investment will ensure the brewery is able to meet that demand without compromising on its core pillars of maintaining excellent quality, and delivering outstanding experiences in every glass.
UK investors will be able to access discounts for Garage Barcelona’s beer on beermerchants.com. The crowdfunder has 10 days remaining.
