Final Elephant and Castle Oktoberfest for German Kraft

German Kraft is staging its final Oktoberfest at Elephant and Castle, closing out eight years of bringing an authentic Bavarian beer festival to the heart of London.

German Kraft Oktoberfest

German Kraft Brewery was founded in Mercato Metropolitano in 2017 by a team of German brewers and entrepreneurs. The ensure that every beer brewed on site complies with the Reinheitsgebot — the German Purity Law of 1516 — using recipes dating back over 400 years, poured unfiltered and unpasteurised, straight from tank to glass.

The London Kraft Oktoberfest has grown into a local institution, open to all — couples, families, and even non-beer drinkers! There are no tickets, no gimmicks, just long tables, live oompah bands, and litres of perfectly poured beer.

Guest brewers this year are:

  • Vocation
  • Pillars
  • Sambrook’s
  • Riegele
  • Lost & Grounded
  • Anspach & Hobday
  • Hackney Church
  • Siren
  • Mondo

“Oktoberfest has always been about more than novelty costumes and drinking,” said German Craft co-founder Felix Bollen. “We wanted to show Londoners the true beer garden spirit and give them a chance to experience a great community atmosphere, all while keeping sustainability and care for the environment in mind!

“We can’t wait to raise one last stein together at Elephant and Castle.”

The event runs from 26th-28th September. Find out more about the festival here.

While Mercato Metropolitano E&C will close in August 2026, German Kraft’s journey will continue. A new home is on the horizon, say the brewers.
