After a year of training on the beautiful trails around Wicklow, we were delighted to be back at the Wicklow Ecotrail on Saturday the 30th September for an incredible day of trail running. Following on from over 10 trail runs around Wicklow, we were delighted to see so many members of the Wicklow Wolf Running Club take on various run distances at this years competition!
Taking off from 7.30am onward, over one thousand three hundred people took part in this years race with distances starting from 19km right the way up to 80km! The Wicklow Ecotrail takes place every September starting from Bray Seafront, taking them up over Bray head and on to the Little Sugarloaf Mountain. From here the race continues over The Great Sugarloaf Mountain, right the way up to the beautiful Lough Tay in Roundwood before turning back and making the long 40km run back to bray seafront.
We were set up at the finish line, ready to welcome back each runner with their Wicklow Wolf x Ecotrail Tankards.
