Tūn Brewing Co is kicking off September by launching two new beers — an Irish stout and New Zealand session pale ale.

The pale is Little Monster from the Id (4% ABV), the name inspired by from New Zealand indie rock legends The Chills. Ripe stone fruit, tropical hop notes, and a touch of citrus dance over a soft malt body, says the brewer. Fermented with Verdant yeast, it finishes dry and fruity.
The Irish stout, Daradach (4.5% ABV), is inspired by the legendary King Conchobar Mac Nessa, from Irish mythology’s Ulster Cycle. It pays homage to his epic quest for the Daradach — a massive oak and bronze boiler built to brew ale.
The beer is a rich and smooth Irish stout with layers of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and subtle toasted grain. Balanced bitterness from East Kent Goldings meets a gentle, creamy mouthfeel.
“At Tūn Brewing we believe beer is more than just a drink — it’s about connection,” said brewery founder Richard Alston. “Whether it’s sharing stories, listening to music, or simply enjoying time with friends, beer has always been part of those moments in British culture.
“With Little Monster from the Id and Daradach, we wanted to brew beers that carry that spirit. Little Monster plays with the idea of the Id — the untamed, instinctive part of ourselves — but expressed in a light, easygoing way that invites joy and conversation.
“Daradach, inspired by Irish legend, reminds us of the timeless tradition of gathering over a pint to share stories. For us, these beers are about fostering a healthier, more mindful relationship with alcohol, and celebrating what really matters: people coming together.”
Little Monster from the Id and Daradach will be launched during a meet the founder event on Saturday, 13th September, at Strange Brew Bar, in Chorlton. Richard will be present from 4-7pm to talk about the beers, the inspiration behind them, Tūn Brewing Co’s philosophy, and his journey from psychiatry to brewing beer.
