Last week we partnered with our friends at Bar 1661 to celebrate our 6th tasting club.

On the back of judging the World Beer Awards, Head Brewer Fergal Murray was joined by special guest, Dave Mulligan, owner and founder of Bar 1661. Known as one of Ireland’s most popular cocktail bar’s, Bar 1661 is one of the cities only independent cocktail bars and is dedicated to promoting a range of signature Irish drinks including Poitín.

Bar 1661 has become a hotspot for sampling a delicious range of Irish-inspired cocktails with Dave and his team also being the masterminds behind the newly launched and highly popular Craft Cocktails range.

In what is our last online tasting club for the moment, guests engaged with Fergal and Dave, learning more about the growing relationship between Bar 1661 and DCBco. Kicking off the session with our Irish Stout and Patriot Pale Ale, our beer enthusiasts received an in-depth description of the flavours and brewing processes of both beers.

Guests were then treated to a bespoke Stout Syrup Old Fashioned, created by the team at Bar 1661 using our signature Irish Stout. On the night, Dave demonstrated how the syrup for the cocktail was made from our Stout and provided insight into how the flavours of roasted barley, chocolate and coffee, create an extraordinary flavour combination when mixed with bourbon whisky and angostura bitters.

This most recent tasting club was a brilliant way to showcase the versatility of our core range with guests impressed to see how our beers can be mixed with a range of spirits and ingredients to create delicious tasting cocktails.

The team at DCBco. can’t wait to work alongside Bar 1661 again, as we continue to spread awareness of our beers and brewery to the Irish public.

As we head into July, we have some very exciting news about our next tasting club. We are delighted to confirm that we are hosting our next edition in-person, at the award-winning Koh restaurant for an evening of delicious Thai food paired with DCBco. beers.
