Timothy Taylor’s teamed up with Michelin-starred village pub The White Swan at Fence to mark Beer Day Britain with a beer and food matching event.

Gareth Ostick, who runs the pub, has helped to establish The White Swan as a destination for beer and food lovers alike, while keeping its warm, village pub charm firmly intact.
This was the tenth time the annual matching event had been staged. It was made even more special with the presence of Andrew Carter, Timothy Taylor’s newly appointed chief executive, celebrating his first Beer Day Britain with the brewery.
“It’s a real privilege to celebrate this event in such a special place,” said Andrew. “The White Swan is a shining example of what makes a British pub truly great — outstanding beer, phenomenal food, and a genuine sense of community.”
The evening was hosted by beer sommelier Annabel Smith, who led a packed house through a brilliant beer and food pairing experience. Annabel shared insights into the heritage and characteristics of each beer, while guiding guests through the pairings.
They enjoyed a line-up of Timothy Taylor’s cask beers, including Landlord and Boltmaker, and Hopical Storm Session IPA served on keg. Each course was designed to match one of the beers, crafted by award-winning chef Tom Parker.
