The owners of Brighton Bier have announced that the brewing business has ceased trading, blaming economic headwinds.

“We have fought hard and done everything we possibly could to avoid reaching this point,” says a statement on the brewery’s website.
“Sadly, market pressures, with reduced margins, high costs, and increases in the price of materials, combined with the current economic conditions, has forced us to close the brewery.
“We would like to thank all our customers over the years. It has been a pleasure working with you and we thank you for your support.”
The company says a fuller statement will be published in due course. And it is emphasising that Brighton Bierhaus, Haus on the Hill, The Drop, and West Tap are not affected, being separate businesses.
Brighton Bier’s brewhouse, associated plant, and intangible assets are to go under the hammer with auctioneers Marriott & Co on 25th June. The sale will be online.
