When the Russian invasion of Ukraine started, it didn’t take long for the brewing world to respond. One of the main focus points was Brew For Ukraine, and initiative in which brewers around the world brewed and sold beers based on the recipes of Ukrainian craft brewery Pravda Brewing of Lviv.
Within days of the invasion Pravda had stopped brewing and started making Molotov cocktails instead. Then they made their recipes available for other brewers to brew Ukrainian craft beer and make profits available to support the refugees.
Yuri from Pravda along with Vern from The Federation of Beer who used their experience and contacts to help get the initiative off the ground will be joining me to discuss how the project started, what it achieved, where it is now, and what the current situation is in Ukraine.
