Bluntrock Brewery beer, from Cornwall, has been served in the Houses of Parliament’s Strangers’ Bar, thanks to local MP Ben Maguire.

The beer in question is Bluntrock Gold (4.8% ABV), the brewers’ first cask beer. Naturally malt forward, it features a base of floor-malted Maris Otter malts, sourced from Warminster Maltings. This gives a clean, rounded backbone to the beer, along with a smooth body. There is some Cara malt in there to give the beer its deep golden glow.
Hopped in the whirlpool with a touch of Nelson Sauvin, bringing out top notes of bright gooseberry and citrusy white grapes, there are also some British Harlequin hops, for some low notes of resin and pine.
“This is a really proud moment for us, and we couldn’t thank Ben and his team enough for this incredible opportunity,” says the brewer.
“To have our beer served in one of the oldest and most iconic buildings in the country is a privilege, and we truly hope that MPs from all sides of the house enjoy the beer!”
