Best in Ireland for Full Irish at World Beer Awards
We’re delighted to announce that the Full Irish Single Malt IPA has been named Best in Ireland in the English-Style IPA category for the 2024 World Beer Awards.
Full Irish was also the winner of the gold award in that category.
Our flagship beer, Howling Gale Irish Pale Ale, won silver in the American-Style Pale Ale category.
Eight Degrees has a long history of taking Best in Ireland at these awards with Full Irish IPA, Bohemian Pilsner Lager, Seisiún IPA, Sunburnt Irish Red Ale, Knockmealdown Irish Stout and Wayfarer Sour IPA all taking the top position in their categories in past years. Howling Gale IPA was named World’s Best American-Style Pale Ale at the awards in 2018.
“It’s great to see that our beers are still topping the charts at the World Beer Awards,” said founder / director Scott Baigent. “After being out of the brewing business for a few years and following our reaquisition of the brewery in January,” added his fellow founder / director Cam Wallace, “we’re delighted to see that our faith in our brilliant brewing team and the naturally adventurous beer that we produce here in Mitchelstown has been rewarded.”
The World Beer Awards are global awards selecting the best in a range of internationally recognised styles. Each year the World Beer Awards award and promote the world’s best beers to consumers and trade around the world.
