A new Rye River Seasonal is hitting shelves this summer and you don’t want to miss this one! Die Hundestage Köter Kölsch, or the Dog Days Mutt Kölsch, is a special collaboration brew with our friends at Old Street Brewery in East London.

This one is for the dog days of summer! We brewed what we love: Kölsch and hops. Grab some cans, find some sun and crush a few cold ones. This mutt of a Kölsch style is crisp and clean with a Tango and Callista dry hops bringing forward a spritz of citrus and sweet fruit. 5.0% ABV and limited edition. Prost!

“This mutt of a Kölsch-style was born from drinking beers and making friends on a recent trip to Germany. Josh from Old Street Brewery and I thought a project to celebrate some German Hops would be a bit of craic and with the dog days of summer fast approaching, our heads jumped to Kölsch. We brewed a crisp and clean Kölsch with Dingeman’s Pilsner and Wheat, fermented it out with a Kölsch Ale yeast strain and then laced it with Callista Lupomax and Tango Spectrum for a hit of sweet fruit and citrus on the nose. Sup’em while the sun is shining.” – Bill Laukitis, Head Brewer at Rye River

Check out this video from our buddies at Get ‘er Brewed from the collab brew day back in June!

“Both Old Street and Rye River are full of dog lovers. When I met Josh he was telling me about how Old Street are a dog friendly brewery and taproom. So we took inspiration from that and it was an opportunistic moment to put both of our dogs on a beer label. We further sought opportunity to include photos or videos from all our beloved brewery hounds for this project. We love dogs and we love beer… just don’t ask us to choose between them!” – Bill Laukitis

So right about now you’re probably wondering where you can get your paws on this beautiful Kölsch collab… We’ve got you covered!
