Butcombe Group has reported like-for-like growth of 8% across its managed pub division in the year to 31st January. Drink sales were up 10.1%, food 6.5%, and accommodation 5.3%.

The Butcombe Brewing Co and drinks business has continued to grow, with an especially strong performance in the UK free trade up by 5.3%. This was supported by an exceptional festive period, with total like-for-like sales in the UK free trade up 21% in the Christmas and New Year fortnight.
Strengthening retail presence has supported increased brand presence and recognition in new regions and territories. Distribution in the off-trade increased by 30% year on year.
This has been driven by key grocery listing growth. M&S extended the number of stores stocking Butcombe Original, Tesco stocked Butcombe Original in a new 440ml can format in 80 stores, and Goram IPA Zero (500ml) and Tall Tales Pale Ale (500ml) each secured listings at 60 Co-op stores.
The rapid growth of no and low brands, including Butcombe’s non-alcoholic Goram IPA Zero, has been a key driver in the growth of the drinks arm of the business, with the category up 63.9% for the year.
